ok, first an explanation as to why landscape group...its from a project titled Cultures of Nature that i did at uni this year, and i focussed on the cultural ideas and ideals that surround the word and the idea of 'landscape' this was concertrating on the idea that landscape is everywhere, even where we have built up and built on top of it. Landscape is a made up idea that man has impossed...so these are examples of landscape in minature, where landscape can just be seen in the 'urban jungle'
rightyho now thats out of the way, this is just a testprint, that was in my sketch book, final image is LANDSCAPE in format not square as the neg is (using hasselblad 500 c/m) to reflect the 'bigger idea' of traditional landscape values. sorry abotu the quality its not fab...colour not quite right and the dust! WHOAH, thats the probs of quick prints when you do it yourself, i would scan a better example - but its 40x 50 cm - i will work on a scan to get a better result and as usual with medium format bigger is better the detail is brill as you would expect.
another note, this is an introductuction to the 'thom technique' as it has been now named at my uni, i have become almost famous for this type of photo, its quie funny! everyone know the technique somehow even if they dotn know me! its a bit odd, but simply camera on the floor use f2. and then you get a a 'band' of focus through the image which i particularly like, almost like when you use large format and you alter the planes of the lense and back to create the band of focus there. but this simply works with the constraints of where the camera can focus.
